Command description

The following chapters describe all UDO commands in detail. All descriptions use the same categories so you can see at a glance what to do with which command. The categories are explained as follows.

Type & position:
The type of the command and the position where it is allowed to use it.
A command tells UDO do something especially, a switch sets some internal information for UDO and a placeholder will be simply replaced by a different text fragment.
Preamble means that you are only allowed to use this command in the preamble of your source file (before !begin_document). Main part means that you are only allowed to use it behind !begin_document. Preamble & main part means that you can use this command wherever you want.
Syntax:

<text> replaces text
<file> replaces a file name
<value> replaces a number
<char> replacedescriptions a single char
<abbreviations> replaces the abbreviation of the destination formats
<language> replaces the abbreviation of the destination language
<systems> replaces one or more operating system
<color> replaces the name of a color
<character set> replaces the name of a character set
